The Department of Emergency Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons is
seeking a highly qualified leader to take on the role of Medical Director at the NewYork- Presbyterian
Westchester(NYP-W) Emergency Department in the Westchester village of Bronxville, NY. The NYP-W
Emergency Department serves approximately 45,000 patients annually with a significant pediatric population.
As Medical Director, the successful candidate will report to the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and will be
charged with the following:
- Manage the daily operations of NYP-W Emergency Department
- Collaborate with EM and hospital leadership to enhance clinical care for all patients
- Support and help initiate quality and performance improvement efforts as directed by the Chair, Vice
- Chair of Clinical Operations or Vice Chair of Quality and Patient Safety
- Participate in representing the Department of Emergency Medicine to hospital leadership, as well as
within interdisciplinary workgroups
Successful applicants must possess an MD or DO, have completed an emergency medicine residency, and have
current board certification in Emergency Medicine. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and
communication skills to work collaboratively across the organization. Columbia University Irving Medical Center

- Salary range: $313,612 - $407,267
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to
departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, shift assignment and training. The
above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible
compensation at the time of posting.
